Pistol First Steps

This new shooter orientation class introduces basic pistol safety and functioning, key fundamentals for shooting well and small-group live-fire range time to put what you’ve learned into practice. Appropriate for all new shooters as well as youth. $25 (3-hr)

Prerequisite: None

Required Equipment: Students will need hearing and eye protection, and approximately 50 rounds of ammunition. We realize new shooters may not know which calibers they want to shoot, so we set aside time for students to purchase what they need after we have discussed pistol actions and calibers but before heading to the range.

Do I Need My Own Firearm?: No, but you may. If you own a pistol, we encourage you to bring it so you can practice with what you already own. If you do not have a firearm or if you simply want to try some different models, you may use ours at no cost during the class.

Dates: See our full training calendar; or link to dates and sign up online. Of course, we also love it when people call or stop in. See you soon!

CCW

By far our most popular training class, our 8-hour CCW program includes classroom and practical range training. This class covers firearm safety, actions of various guns (how they function), key fundamentals for shooting well, and the do’s and don’ts of Ohio law related to owning and potentially using a firearm in a defensive situation. It also includes live-fire, small group coaching on the range to put what you’ve learned into practice. We enjoy helping new and experienced shooters gain knowledge and advance their skills. $119 (8-hr)

Prerequisite: None

Required Equipment: Students will need hearing and eye protection, and approximately 100 rounds of ammunition. We realize new shooters may not know which calibers they want to shoot, so we set aside time for students to purchase what they need after we have discussed pistol actions and calibers but before heading to the range.

Do I Need My Own Firearm?: You may use your own firearms or ours. If you own a pistol for practice or that you may want to use for concealed carry or home defense, we encourage you to bring it so you can practice with what you already own. If you do not have a firearm or if you simply want to try some different models, you may use ours at no cost during the class.

Legal Refresher

This class focuses on Ohio law as well as pistol shooting fundamentals and live-fire practice with instructors on hand to help you continually improve your shooting. The legal portion includes a thorough review of updates and pending updates to concealed carry laws in Ohio as well as a discussion of reasonable force and deadly force requirements.  This class is great for out-of-state permit holders who need to “pick up” Ohio legal and/or live fire training to obtain an Ohio permit*; and the CCW holder who wants a refresher on Ohio law and pistol shooting fundamentals. *The Sheriff’s Department, not 22three, determines if an out-of-state permit holder can obtain an Ohio permit with this training combined with his or her out-of-state permit. $75 (3-hr)

Prerequisite: None, but an out-of-state CCW permit is required in combination with this class to fulfill the Sheriff's requirements as outlined above. This class assumes you already know, understand and employ safe pistol handling fundamentals.

Required Equipment: For the shooting portion of the class, students will need a reliable handgun, hearing and eye protection, and approximately 50 to 100 rounds of ammunition.

Dates: See our full training calendar; or link to dates and sign up online. Of course, we also love it when people call or stop in. See you soon!

AR Fundamentals

This introductory AR class acquaints new shooters with the AR-15 platform. Through classroom discussion, demonstration and dry-fire practice, we will instruct students on how to most effectively use an AR. A review of disassembly and AR cleaning and maintenance is included as is a short live-fire session to further help students become accustomed with this versatile platform. $75 (2-hr)

Prerequisite: None

Required Equipment: AR-style carbine rifle, 20 rounds of ammunition, and an old towel.

Dates: See our full training calendar; or link to dates and sign up online. Of course, we also love it when people call or stop in. See you soon!

Trauma Care/System Collapse Medicine

This class will teach valuable skills, preparing students to provide trauma care in a hostile or austere environment – when traditional medical care may be delayed by hours, days, or longer because of an active killer event, hostage situation, bombing, terrorist scenario or long-term collapse of the medical system. Learn hands-on skills for self-care in case you’re on our own, and buddy-care, which can buy time and save your life or the lives of others. Learn to assess and treat gunshot, stab, and sucking-chest wounds, and blast injuries as well as extremity or junctional hemorrhage, tension pneumothorax and airway obstruction. As part of the class, students will receive a manual for trauma care, and a list of trauma care supplies that can easily be obtained and kept on-hand. $100 (4-4.45 hours)

Prerequisite: None
